"Pop Up" Railroad Operation - Fall 2023
While Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad fundraises to conduct larger railroad operations between Eatonville and Mineral; we will run very limited “pop-up” excursion trains between Elbe and Mineral this September and October. Our track and bridges need work to be maintained in operating condition, with many repairs resulting in a 15-20 year service life that will keep the railroad operational for years to come.
Sponsor packages start at $7,500.

Eatonville Museum
We are in the initial planning stages for the construction of our new regional railroad and logging museum, located in Eatonville, WA. Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad owns the largest collection of logging locomotives in the world. The new museum will sit in a highly visible location in downtown Eatonville, attracting visitors from all over Washington State, and beyond. Talk to us about sponsoring a museum wing! This opportunity is ideal for companies and industries with ties to logging and railroad heritage and have a vested interest in continued education and public awareness.

Our Vision
Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad, (WFIM), through its various enterprises, will serve as a physical and cultural link between the urban and rural communities surrounding Mt. Rainier.
With the world's largest comprehensive collection of logging locomotives, we will promote and provide historical steam age experiences telling the stories of those that lived, worked, and were impacted by the railroads.
By utilizing our travel corridor, MRSR offers inclusive recreational opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, interests, and abilities.
We will provide sustainable and responsible tourism opportunities to benefit the local communities surrounding Mt. Rainier and our travel corridor.

Read more about our plans at here! In short, we’re launching RailCycle Mt. Rainier, our new family-friendly pedal rail bike excursion this Spring (2023).
This Summer (2023), we’re working to launch a pop-up railroad operation in Chehalis, on Chehalis & Centralia Railroad Museum’s line.
Next summer (2024), we’ll begin construction to restore the 18 miles of railroad track between Eatonville and Elbe.
In 2025, we will begin running full-passenger excursions from Eatonville. Upon construction of a new depot, we anticipate over 125,000 annual passengers. We will simultaneously conduct planning for our new museum, located in Eatonville.

Our nonprofit organization reformed in Fall of 2022. Since that point, WFIM has secured over $6 million in assets, capital to cover basic payroll, insurance, and operational costs, and grant funding. Our organization does not currently have any debt.
The sponsorship opportunities we are currently offering all go towards advancing our ability to maintain a self-sufficient operation. We anticipate that within one year of launching RailCycle Mt. Rainier, we will have seen a healthy return on our initial investments. RailCycle Mt. Rainier will then sustain a high enough operating profit margin to continue reinvesting in the heritage railroad operation.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we will still seek grants and other funding opportunities for large capital improvement projects, although we will cover all operational expenses with earned income.
